What's new in Resorcerer

New features and improvements, newest first.

MCPSingle sign-on

New features

Single sign-on is now part of the Pro plan

On the Pro plan you can now let your team sign in through your own identity provider. Open Organization Settings, choose Security and turn it on, then verify your domain, connect your SAML or OIDC provider and test it before it goes live. If your plan ends, single sign-on switches off with it, so anyone who only ever signed in that way will need another way in.

Bug fixes

Connecting AI assistants no longer fails during authorization

Connecting an AI assistant to Resorcerer could fail partway through the authorization step on some installations. The connection setup now completes as expected.

AI assistant connections stay connected

An AI assistant connected to Resorcerer could stop working after a while and ask you to set it up again. Connections now stay valid until you remove them.

This release includes behind-the-scenes maintenance and reliability improvements.

New features

A position's change history, right in its details

Administrators can now open a position's details and switch to the Audit Log tab to see everything that happened to that position: who changed what, and when, with each change expandable to the exact fields.

See a position's full history across a timeline

Open a position's details on a timeline model and switch to the new Timeline tab. Every snapshot in the timeline is listed in order, showing where the position exists, where it starts and ends, and exactly what changed at each step. Selecting an entry takes you to that snapshot.

Link straight to a unit

Selecting a unit in the Units view now puts it in the page address, so you can share a link that opens with that unit selected and its branch expanded. When you move between models on a timeline, your selected unit stays selected in the model you switch to.

Collapse or expand the whole unit tree at once

The Units view now has a button above the hierarchy that collapses the whole tree in one click, and expands it again in the next, so you can jump between a full overview and the detail you were working in. The tree also remembers which branches you collapsed while you make changes, instead of springing fully open after every edit.

Improvements

Filter merge reverts on their own

When you review a merge, changes that would undo newer work are flagged as reverts. You can now show only those reverts or hide them entirely, instead of having them mixed into the add, remove, and modify filters.

Bug fixes

Smoother scrolling on compare and merge

Scrolling the compare and merge views is back to normal: the page scrolls as one piece, and the differences list no longer traps your scrolling in an inner box.

Rebasing no longer causes false reverts

Rebasing a model is bookkeeping, not an edit. It no longer makes later merge reviews flag unchanged items as reverts, and it no longer shows up as the last change on items nobody actually touched.

Timeline badges stay accurate after propagating changes

When you apply a change across the models of a timeline, the affected position is now recognized as the same position everywhere. Start and end markers no longer appear on positions that exist across the whole timeline, and the view you are on updates right away instead of after a reload.

New features

Choose whether analytics cookies are used

Resorcerer measures how the app is used so it can be improved. You can now decide how that happens: allow analytics cookies, or decline and be counted anonymously without them.

If you are not signed in, you are asked once. If you are signed in, analytics is covered by the terms you accepted when you joined, and Cookie settings in your account menu lets you change that whenever you like. Your choice takes effect straight away.

Bug fixes

User Settings opens correctly again

The User Settings window could open empty, and drew its contents against the top half of the window with an empty band underneath. It now opens on your profile and fills the window.

Improvements

The free tier is now called Free preview

The free tier is named Free preview throughout, which is a fairer description of what it is: a worked example organization to look around before you decide.

Clearer plan descriptions

The Plans page now describes what each plan is for rather than just listing limits, and the free tier says plainly that it is a read-only preview.

New workspaces start with an example organization to explore

A new workspace used to open on an empty page. It now comes with an example organization already built out, with people, roles, levels and locations, so you can see how everything fits together before deciding what to change. The Free plan now includes up to 10 people so the example fits comfortably.

The audit log now shows where automatic changes came from

Changes that no person initiated, like an update arriving from your sign-in provider, used to appear in the audit log as an unknown user. They now show the system they came from instead, so it is clear at a glance which entries someone on your team is accountable for and which happened automatically.

A friendlier first minute in a new workspace

Creating a workspace used to leave you looking at an empty page with no particular place to start. You now get a short welcome that points you at the documentation and tells you what your plan includes, and it stays out of the way after that.

Bug fixes

Creating your first workspace now takes you straight into it

Setting up a new workspace used to drop you back on an empty page that looked like nothing had happened, and only a refresh would show the workspace you had just made. You now see a short "setting up your workspace" message and land inside it as soon as it is ready.

Profile photos now import from a CSV

Importing people from a CSV silently ignored the photo column, so everyone came in without a picture. It now works, and the column can be headed photourl, photo_url, or photo url.

New organizations show their plan straight away

A new organization now has its plan in place the moment you create it, so the plan name and its limits are right the first time you open it. Before, a brand new organization could show no plan at all for a while, which made its limits look unrestricted until the plan caught up.

TimelineModels

New features

Apply a change across every model in a timeline

When you edit a model that belongs to a timeline, you can now apply the same change to the other models in that timeline in one step. It works for slots and units as you add, edit or delete them, and for model details like the summary, labels and who has access.

Resorcerer shows you which models match before anything happens, defaults to the ones that come after the model you are editing, and asks you to confirm. Models that have already diverged are listed separately so you can decide about them individually.

MCPCompare & merge

Improvements

AI tools now flag changes that would undo newer work

When you ask a connected AI tool to compare two models, differences that would replace newer work with something older are now marked as reverts, the same way they appear on the merge screen.

Compare & merge

New features

See who changed what before you merge

Every difference on the merge screen now reads as a plain sentence telling you what happened, which model it happened in, who did it and when. Hovering a difference explains what applying it would actually do.

Improvements

A clearer merge screen

Rebasing now has its own panel with counts of what it would relink, and it turns itself off when there is nothing to relink. Panels with no differences hide their counters and filters and show a simple all clear instead, so the screen only shows you what needs a decision.

Bug fixes

Merge no longer reports work that is already done

The relink count on the merge screen could stay above zero after a rebase had already finished, suggesting there was still something to do. It now falls to zero once the work is complete. A difference that exists only because the other model deleted it is also described correctly now, rather than looking like something you added.

This release includes behind-the-scenes maintenance and reliability improvements.

Improvements

Send feedback and track it in one place

Reporting a problem and checking what happened to something you reported now live in the same place. Open the feedback dialog to send a report or look back at the ones you have already sent.

Import & exportModels

Bug fixes

Imports and exports keep more of your detail

Exporting and re-importing a model now preserves slot start and end dates, keeps cost profiles that share a name but differ in other ways as separate entries, and gives you access to a private model you import. Copy history is also kept when the original model is in the archive.

People

New features

Invite teammates who do not have an account yet

You can now invite someone by email before they have signed up. They appear in your user list as pending, and become a full member the first time they sign in.

Improvements

Settings you can open from anywhere

Your own settings and your organization's settings now open over whatever page you are on, rather than taking you somewhere else. Everything that used to sit under Admin, including users, access tokens, audit log and trash, now lives in organization settings, reached from the organization switcher. Access tokens also span every organization you belong to, so you manage them all in one list.

Bookmarks to the old admin pages will need updating.

People

Bug fixes

Directory sync can filter people by email again

If your identity provider was set up before people were renamed from members, filtering by email during sync had stopped working. Those setups now work again without any changes on your side.

Service accountsREST API

New features

Give automated tools their own identity

You can now create service accounts for scripts and integrations, so automated access is granted and revoked separately from any one person's account.

Report a problem without leaving Resorcerer

There is now a feedback option in the app for reporting a bug or asking for a feature. Your report goes straight to the team.

Bug fixes

Access tokens need to be created again

Access tokens now use a single sign-in system shared by the API and connected AI tools. Tokens created before this release no longer work and need to be issued again from your settings.

This release includes behind-the-scenes maintenance and reliability improvements.

PeopleREST API

Improvements

Members are now called people

The people you assign to slots are now called people rather than members, so they are no longer confused with the members of your organization. You will see the new wording throughout the app, and the navigation entry has moved from Members to People.

If you use the API, the member endpoints have moved to people. Directory sync keeps working with no changes.

MCP

Improvements

AI tools can read and set slot dates

Connected AI tools can now see the start and end dates you have set on a slot, and updating a slot through them no longer clears fields you did not mention.

Costs & headcountTimeline

New features

See how headcount and cost change over time

New trend tables and charts show how your headcount and costs move across a timeline, month by month. You can plot them against the dates on your slots or against your model snapshots, and switch between the two.

The compare screen also gains a totals table and lets you break changes down by slot dates.

Bug fixes

Sorting units and slots no longer fails

Asking for units or slots in a specific order could fail instead of returning results. Sorting works again.

Models

New features

Give a slot its own start and end dates

You can now record when a slot starts and ends, independently of any timeline the model belongs to. The dates appear on the slot details, in the slots list and its export, and you can filter by a date range.

Bug fixes

Matrix fixes for empty roles and the pinned column

Roles with no slots now appear in the matrix and disappear only when you turn on hide empty, matching how empty units already behaved. The pinned label column no longer lets other columns show through it as you scroll sideways.

Improvements

Easier filtering and a matrix that stays readable

Filter lists are now in alphabetical order everywhere, so options are easier to find. In the matrix, the label column stays put as you scroll sideways, and a new hide empty toggle removes units and roles with no slots.

MCPModels

New features

Give an AI tool access to specific models

You can now grant a connected AI tool access to individual models rather than all of them. The tool sees only the models you chose, and cannot read or change any others.

MCP

Bug fixes

Connected AI tools can see all the tools you granted

Connected AI tools were only offered one of the tools available to them, whatever access you had granted. They now see everything your grant covers.

This release includes behind-the-scenes maintenance and reliability improvements.

Bug fixes

The compare screen no longer scrolls sideways

Long cost totals pushed the compare screen wider than the window. Values now wrap inside their card instead.

Bug fixes

See every change when comparing large models

Comparing two models with a lot of differences cut the list off partway. It is now paged, so you can reach all of them.

Compare & mergeMCPCosts & headcount

New features

See exactly what changed between two models

The compare screen now lists what was added, removed and changed, with the same filters as the slots page and an export so you can take the list away with you. The breakdown sits side by side so you can read both models at once, and switches between headcount and cost.

Ask an AI tool about headcount, cost and differences

Connected AI tools can now answer the same questions the counts, costs and compare screens do, without you opening the app.

Improvements

Faster loading and better keyboard support

The app now loads noticeably less up front, so it starts faster. Model cards, slot cards and the unit hierarchy can also be reached and operated with a keyboard, and screen readers announce them properly.

This release includes behind-the-scenes maintenance and reliability improvements.

REST APITimeline

New features

Timelines in the API

The API now exposes a model's effective date and its timeline, including a way to fetch the whole timeline for a model, and start and end dates on slots.

This release includes behind-the-scenes maintenance and reliability improvements.

MCPTimeline

New features

Timelines for AI tools

Connected AI tools can now read a model's timeline, add a model to one or take it out again, and set an effective date when creating or copying a model.

TimelineModels

New features

See when a slot starts and ends across a timeline

Slots in a timeline now show the period they exist for and whether they changed, on unit cards, in the slots list and its export, and on the slot details. A show dates toggle turns the same information on in the diagram and org chart.

Start from sample data

Administrators can now create a sample model from the empty models page, to explore Resorcerer with something already in it.

Costs & headcount

New features

Break costs down and drill into the slots behind them

The costs view now breaks spend down by the dimension you choose and lets you open any row to see the individual slots making it up.

This release includes behind-the-scenes maintenance and reliability improvements.

Costs & headcountTimeline

Improvements

Headcount and cost at a glance

The counts and costs views now lead with summary cards, and models in a timeline show total, filled and vacant as trend lines. The trend chart follows the same dimension and filters as the table beneath it.

This release includes behind-the-scenes maintenance and reliability improvements.

Models

Bug fixes

Models render in the same order every time

Units and slots could appear in a different order each time a model was loaded, which also made two identical models look different when compared. The order is now stable, and a copied model keeps the order of the one it came from.

Models

New features

Plan limits are now shown in the app

Your plan's limit on the number of models is now visible where it matters. When you reach it, the new model button explains why it is unavailable, and a banner appears if you are over the limit. Nothing is ever deleted for being over a limit.

Models

New features

Drag a slot onto a unit to move it

You can now move a slot between units by dragging it onto the unit in the hierarchy, instead of opening the slot to change it.

Costs & headcount

Improvements

Model views moved into the sidebar

The views inside a model now appear in the sidebar as you work, rather than as a row of tabs, and the overview page gains a grid for jumping straight to any of them. Counts and costs are now two separate views instead of one combined breakdown.

Compare & merge

New features

Rebase a model onto the one you are merging from

Merging now offers to rebase, relinking the units and slots in your model to their counterparts in the source so future comparisons line up. The merge screen shows how many would be relinked before you commit to it.

ModelsTimeline

Bug fixes

Copying a model keeps the details you chose

The effective date, timeline, visibility and description you set while copying a model were ignored and the original's values used instead. Your choices are now saved. Timelines also refresh straight away when a model joins or leaves one.

Improvements

See who is active in the slots export

The slots export now includes a column showing whether the person assigned to each slot is active.

Compare & merge

Bug fixes

Slots survive their unit being deleted

Deleting a unit left its slots showing an unknown unit, and merging treated them as deletions. A slot whose unit has gone now simply shows no unit, and merges correctly.

Models

New features

Archive models you have finished with

You can now archive a model to take it out of your list without deleting it. Archived models are read only, marked clearly when you open one, and a toggle brings them back into view.

This release includes behind-the-scenes maintenance and reliability improvements.

TimelineCompare & merge

New features

Track how your organization changes over time

You can now give a model an effective date and group it with others to form a timeline. A strip below the model menu lets you move between the dated versions.

Resorcerer also remembers where each unit and slot was copied from, so comparing and merging two models in a timeline matches up the things that are really the same rather than guessing by name.

This release includes behind-the-scenes maintenance and reliability improvements.

Audit log

Bug fixes

Slots are named in the activity history

Changes to a slot appeared in the history as just the word slot. They now show the slot's name.

This release includes behind-the-scenes maintenance and reliability improvements.

Audit logModels

Improvements

Moving a slot between units is recorded

Changing which units a slot belongs to now appears in the model's history, naming the units involved rather than showing identifiers. Searching your models list also looks at the summary as well as the name.

This release includes behind-the-scenes maintenance and reliability improvements.

Models

New features

Find models faster

The models list now has a search box, filtering by label, and paging, and shows models as compact rows so more fit on screen.

Models

Bug fixes

Label changes stick

Labels reverted to their previous values when you saved a model or unit. Label edits now hold until you save, and save correctly.

Audit log

Improvements

Unit and slot changes appear in the model's history

Edits to units and slots are now recorded against the model they belong to, so a model's history shows everything that happened inside it.

New features

Filter the diagram

The diagram view now has the same filters and display toggles as the org chart, so you can narrow a large structure down to the part you care about.

Improvements

A more readable diagram

Slots in the diagram are now chips you can click to open the slot, with counts on each unit, avatars for the people assigned, and a subtle colour per level so the depth of the structure is easier to follow.

Single sign-on

Bug fixes

Trash and single sign-on settings load reliably

The trash could show items that were no longer there after moving around the app, and the single sign-on tab sometimes failed to appear in organization settings. Both now load correctly every time.

This release includes behind-the-scenes maintenance and reliability improvements.
