New features
Export a snapshot from the Snapshots tab
Each snapshot on a model's Snapshots tab now has an Export action. It downloads the snapshot as an export file, the same file the Import / Export page makes for a single model, so you no longer need to copy a snapshot to a live model first. Snapshots are not listed in the Import / Export page's model list. A note there now points you to the Snapshots tab.
Every snapshot of a model, in one place
A model now has a Snapshots tab listing every snapshot taken of it — when it was taken, why (before a merge, on a schedule, or by hand), the date it is filed under, and whether it is on the timeline. Open a snapshot, compare it with the model as it is now, put it on the timeline or take it off, or move it to the trash, all from the list. Snapshot now takes one whenever you like, and the snapshot schedule lives on the same tab. The Compare screen's model picker lists the model's own snapshots too.
Improvements
Scheduled snapshots stay off your timeline unless you ask
A daily snapshot schedule no longer adds a new point to your model's timeline every day. In the schedule on a model's Snapshots tab, tick Place each snapshot on the timeline if you want scheduled snapshots to show there; it is off by default. When you apply a sync proposal with Save a snapshot first, a new Place on the timeline option (on by default) decides whether that snapshot shows on the timeline. A snapshot of a dated plan now keeps the plan's date, so a snapshot of your January plan is still filed under January.
Snapshots no longer crowd your models list
Snapshots now remember which model they were taken of, when, and whether they came from a merge, a schedule or a Snapshot now click. They stay out of your models list, even when you show archived models, so the list holds only the models you work on. Copy a snapshot whenever you want an editable model from it.
Snapshots, explained
The docs now have a page on snapshots: how one gets taken, the difference between when it was taken and the date it is filed under, how to put one on the timeline or take it off, and what the Snapshots tab shows. In the app, a snapshot is described as a read-only copy of a model taken at a moment, never as an archived one.
Snapshots look like snapshots everywhere
Opening a snapshot now tells you what it is: which model it was taken of, when, and why, with a link back to that model and its other snapshots. Snapshots stay read-only, and nothing offers to unarchive them. The Compare and Merge screens list the model's own snapshots in their own group, named by when they were taken, so you can compare with or restore from an earlier state in a couple of clicks. On the timeline, snapshots carry a camera icon so you can tell a captured state from a plan, and in the Trash each snapshot says which model it belongs to.
Snapshots tab works on smaller screens and keeps plans' dates
On a tablet, a phone, or a laptop with the sidebar open, the Snapshots tab now shows each snapshot as a card, so whether it is on the timeline and its actions are always in view. Taking a snapshot of a dated plan and placing it on the timeline now files it under the plan's own date by default, so it lands beside the plan. The tab explains the difference between when a snapshot was taken and the date it is filed under, exported snapshots are named after the snapshot, and the schedule card tells you when you have unsaved changes.
Bug fixes
Snapshots read as snapshots everywhere
An open snapshot no longer offers Live sync or the Snapshots button in its header, and its Merge view keeps Apply Merge off with the reason, instead of failing when you click it. In the Compare and Merge pickers each snapshot now leads with its effective date, for example Effective Feb 10, 2026 · taken Oct 10, 2026, 5:27 AM (manual), every group has a heading, and two snapshots taken close together can always be told apart. Search no longer lists snapshots as archived models. Find them on their model's Snapshots tab.
